"Untethered mobility, and hence location, are fundamental defining attributes of wireless. "A recent survey conducted by Strategy Analytics points to encouragingly high levels of interest in location-based services. For example, more than a third of the respondents in the United States and Western Europe registered strong interest in finding directions on their mobile device, up markedly from previous years. Strategy Analytics estimates that by 2008, consumer location applications will generate more than $8 billion in global service revenues."
