SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- PrairieWave Communications’ board of directors announced today several changes in its executive team.

PrairieWave President Bruce Herman has been given the additional responsibilities of chief executive officer. Craig Anderson, one of the founders of PrairieWave, will remain as chairman of the board. Anderson has served as chairman and CEO since September 2002 and has worked in the telecommunications business for nearly a decade. He will continue to monitor and develop overall strategic direction for the company.

“With our recent acquisition of Black Hills FiberCom, the new PrairieWave is twice our previous size. One person can no longer fulfill all the responsibilities of president, CEO and chairman,” said Herman. “As chairman of PrairieWave, Craig will have the ability to set the corporate vision and long-term strategies, a role in which he is very experienced and a critical element of our continued successful growth.”

The PrairieWave Board of Directors also promoted VP Scott Schroeder to the position of chief financial officer.

“Bruce and Scott have both done a tremendous job for the company over the past few years,” said Anderson. “Their new positions recognize these accomplishments and the confidence that the board has in their ability to lead our company forward.”

Herman joined PrairieWave in December 2003 as a vice president and CFO. He was promoted to president in March 2005 while continuing to serve as CFO. For the four years prior to joining the company, he was VP, CFO and Corporate Secretary of Martin Group, Inc., a telecommunications engineering, consulting and software solutions firm.

Schroeder joined PrairieWave in September 2003 as chief accounting officer and controller. He was promoted to vice president of accounting in March 2005. Prior to joining PrairieWave, Schroeder was controller and director of finance at CCL Label.

“I am happy to say that we have a very experienced and capable executive team. This includes the recent addition of Joe Galinanes as vice president of sales and marketing,” said Herman.

As the new vice president of sales and marketing, Galinanes is concentrating on customer retention and growth for the company. Galinanes brings to the company years of experience in business development, telephony (voice, data and wireless), customer service and e-commerce. The majority of Galinanes’s 18-year career has been spent in the telecommunications arena, where he worked for two international telecommunications providers, Cable & Wireless, Inc. as director of operations, and Teleglobe International as director of global customer service. He also served as vice president of customer acquisition and retention for Simplexity, Inc., a telecommunications e-commerce marketplace.
