OTTAWA -- Optiwave Corporation, a world leader in the development of optical simulation software for the fiber optics telecommunications industry, is pleased to announce the release of OptiSystem version 2.1. OptiSystem 2.1 now includes an OptiBPM component that allows users to import waveguide properties from OptiBPM, enabling the design of optical circuits such as ring resonators. In addition, OptiSystem 2.1 enables users to load signal data files from Advanced Design System (ADS), by Agilent EEsof EDA. These files contain time-domain waveform data for defining the signals associated with certain sources. OptiSystem's compatibility with ADS enables users to benefit from technological expertise in electronic as well as optical design automation software systems. OptiSystem's electrical component library now includes components for carrier generation that allow users to simulate cable access systems easily. The component library also allows users to enter parameters that can be measured from real devices. Different types of modulators and modulation schemes are also available. OptiSystem 2.1 has a new memory management system that monitors the virtual memory usage and saves calculation graphs and results as required. In addition, OptiSystem 2.1 is fully compatible with Optiwave's entire line of optical design and simulation products. Optiwave Corp.
