Oxford, UK, site selected by vendor of intelligent network management software to support growth in UK and Scandinavia

BETHESDA, Md. -- OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), the leading provider of intelligent network management software, today announced operations in the UK, based in Oxford, to offer customers in the UK and Scandinavia direct access to OPNET sales and technical resources. The launch of the UK office follows the grand opening of OPNET's first European office, based in Paris, which began operations in November 2000. That office was established to serve the company's rapidly growing international client base -- including industry leaders Alcatel, British Telecom, DaimlerChrysler, Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson, France Telecom, Marconi, Nokia, Nortel, Philips, Telecom Italia, and Vodafone. In recent months, OPNET has forged agreements with a broad range of additional clients -- notably Cable & Wireless, Motorola, Barclays Bank and Hutchison 3G which necessitated a presence in the UK. "OPNET's market base includes network equipment manufacturers, enterprises, and service providers," noted Joe Lenz, OPNET Technologies' Vice President of International Sales. "As a result of our new 8.0 technology, which includes support for emerging technologies such as 3G wireless, our European opportunities have become increasingly large and complex.
