T. On Telecom picks Nokia terminals for its new TETRA network

ESPOO, Finland -- Nokia and South Korean operator T. On Telecom have signed a contract that will deliver Nokia TETRA terminals for their new TETRA network. This contract, the biggest ever in the South Korean market, covers the Nokia THR880i handportables on the 800 MHz frequency band. The deliveries started in the first half of 2005.

T. On Telecom, Trunked Radio System operator has decided to replace its current analogue network equipment and terminals with digital TETRA network. As a result, Nokia has been chosen as the main terminal supplier for the network. The main users of the network in the first phase will be public transportation employees in the Seoul and Kyungki metropolitan areas.

On Telecom.
