Nokia launches Tetra system that operates on the 300MHz frequency band, creating opportunities in Russia, where it is legal to use the frequency

HELSINKI -- Nokia today continued to strengthen its position in TETRA digital professional mobile radio with the launch of a system that operates on the 300 MHz frequency band.

The new TETRA 300 MHz system will be available for deliveries during the second half of 2004.

"The launch of the Nokia TETRA 300 MHz system expands Nokia's strong TETRA portfolio and will make Nokia TETRA networks available for Russian customers, who can use the 300 MHz frequency band," says Matti Peltola, Senior Vice President, Professional Mobile Radio, Nokia Networks.
