July 14, 2003
LONDON -- Mycom International, one of the world's leading providers of engineering services and software solutions to the telecom industry*, announced that it has been selected by Nortel Networks as the preferred partner to implement its best-in-class performance management solution NIMS-PrOptima(tm) to Nortel's GSM system. This agreement allows Nortel's customers to perform mission critical operations such as network quality monitoring and network optimisation, with improved efficiency and greater speed. The partnership follows the recent success of a previous agreement with Nortel, for the delivery of a next-generation performance management solution to Nortel's UMTS and GPRS customers. The solution will be integrated with Nortel's Preside For Wireless Internet framework, and will be delivered in total sync with Nortel's GSM and GPRS releases. NIMS-PrOptima(tm) is Mycom's state-of-the art multi-vendor and multi-technology carrier grade Service Assurance solution, which enables operators to achieve mission critical operations such as end-to-end network performance management and network QoS monitoring. The solution includes powerful processing capabilities, friendly graphical user interfaces and open interfaces, which enables operators to significantly reduce their operational expenditures whilst maximising their revenues. It is based on Open Industry Standards enabled through Java, making it a versatile solution supporting both PC and UNIX platforms. Unlike other legacy solutions, the architecture has been designed to be scalable and functionally evolvable with wireless networks. "We are very excited with this latest agreement, which sees us extending our valuable partnership with a renowned leader in the telecommunications market," commented Siamak Sarbaz, Mycom's founder and CEO, adding, "It is immensely satisfying to see that our software platform remains the de facto industry standard management solution for complex multi-vendor, multi-technology hybrid networks".
