HORSHAM, Pa. -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Broadband Communications Sector today announced that it is teaming with Quantum Bridge Communications, Inc. to provide Fiber to the Home solutions for broadband network service providers. The joint solution will enable service providers to deliver voice, video and data services to residential users and home offices at prices equivalent to traditional copper-based technologies. Such efficiencies can be attributed to the powerful combination of Quantum Bridge's leadership in Passive Optical Networking (PON) and carrier-class switching platforms alongside Motorola's leadership in customer premises equipment (CPE) and integrated end-to-end systems for the delivery of broadband services.

Motorola's ONT1000, an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) that is designed to bridge the gap between the optical network and the consumer premise, together with Quantum Bridge's QB5000(tm) and QB3000(tm) Optical Line Terminals (OLT), delivers flexible voice, video, and data services to residential and SOHO customers.

Motorola and Quantum Bridge will showcase their Fiber to the Home solution, along with other innovations, at SuperComm, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, June 1 - 5, 2003.

"One of the next great network build out opportunities is Fiber to the Home," said Charles Dougherty, Motorola Vice President and General Manager, Network Infrastructure Solutions. "Quantum Bridge and Motorola bring complementary strengths, skills and technologies to deliver best-in-class solutions for operators to offer their customers. This alliance will enable residential customers to realize the benefits inherent in high speed voice, video and data services."

"Motorola's proven expertise in broadband and their demonstrated commitment to delivering value-added solutions for operators worldwide, combined with Quantum Bridge's leadership in Passive Optical Networking, provides a team that is unmatched in servicing the bundled services market," said Tony Zona, president and CEO of Quantum Bridge.
