PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Trapeze Networks(TM), the award-winning provider of the enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System(TM), today announced that Memorial Hospital in York, PA, has deployed a Trapeze WLAN to fortify the hospital staff's voice and data mobility needs.
A subsidiary of Memorial Health Systems, the hospital's devotion to personalized, quality healthcare has been a mainstay since its inception in 1945. Remaining true to its philosophy of promoting, improving and enhancing the health and well being of the community, Memorial Hospital understood the urgency of using wireless to streamline business processes and enhance the quality of patient care. The hospital IT staff sought the expertise of system integrator IntelliMark for its Trapeze WLAN deployment.
Doctors, nurses, administrators and staff members at Memorial Hospital now use the Trapeze WLAN daily, and the number is increasing. Doctors and nurses use the WLAN to access an ASP-hosted health information system and in-house applications via laptop PCs. SpectraLink voice-over-wireless phones facilitate hospital-wide communications.
IntelliMark's deployment of the Trapeze WLAN makes it easier for the hospital staff to input clinical assessments and other vital healthcare information securely from any location at any time. The secure availability of this vital patient information to the clinical staff has dramatically improved the quality of patient care and enabled more face-time with patients.
"Trapeze beat out the competition, including Cisco and Aruba, to become the vendor of choice for us," said Cliff Weaver, director of management information systems at Memorial Hospital. "Trapeze's low total cost of ownership was one of the leading factors in this decision, along with superb reliability and the ability to get the WLAN up and running quickly. The deployment of computing assets has also been significantly reduced because wiring closet costs have been practically eliminated."
