SHERBROOKE, Canada -- M5T, a leading provider of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) software solutions for secure real-time multimedia communications over IP, announced today the release of its M5T MIKEY SAFE stack (Multimedia Internet Keying), a breakthrough key and security parameter agreement protocol used to secure real-time communications over wired and wireless IP networks.

The M5T MIKEY SAFE software offers an optimized key management and related security parameters agreement solution for the Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol ("SRTP") security protocol. As such, M5T MIKEY SAFE ideally complements M5T SRTP SAFE stack, which provides advanced authentication, confidentiality and integrity capabilities, based on powerful encryption algorithms. M5T MIKEY SAFE can be seamlessly integrated with M5T SRTP SAFE product or with any SRTP component from other vendors.

MIKEY is intended to be used for key exchange between peer-to-peer (P2P), simple one-to-many and small size (interactive) groups. Since MIKEY has been specifically designed to meet low latency requirements, it has been selected by 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) as the preferred solution for key exchange protocol for the next generation of IP communications over cellular networks.

"M5T breaks new grounds with the release of its M5T MIKEY SAFE software", said Mr. Stefano Genoni, Vice-President, Business Development at M5T. "Our unique expertise in developing advanced standard-based security software for multimedia over IP communications allowed us, one more time, to pioneer with the market introduction of MIKEY, a powerful security software component that will be paramount to the efficient encryption of multimedia communications over wired and wireless networks".
