SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) has securely architected its national wide area network (WAN) with the Juniper Networks enterprise routing and network security solutions. The Juniper Networks J-series routers, NetScreen firewalls, Secure Access SSL VPNs, and Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) appliances ensure DIV's distributed locations and remote users have secure, high-performance connectivity to various resources.

At its headquarters and each of its six branch sites, DIV uses the Unified Threat Management (UTM) security features of the NetScreen-5GT firewall, which includes stateful inspection firewall, IDP, Antivirus (Anti-Spyware, Anti-Phishing, Anti-Adware), Anti-Spam, and Web Filtering functions to protect DIV's network from external attacks. The NetScreen-5GT appliances also provide network segmentation, dynamic routing and multiple deployment modes to simplify network integration and deployment of internal security for DIV's IT staff.

"Using Juniper platforms, we built a completely new IP network from scratch," said Doan Minh Tuan, DIV's chief technology officer. "We wanted a next-generation converged IP infrastructure to operate mission-critical services. Because of our importance to Vietnam's financial stability, and our absence of legacy technologies, we started with a clean slate and selected network equipment on the basis of performance, security and scalability."
