ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Spirent Communications, a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc (NYSE: SPM and LSE: SPT), today announced a joint interoperability alliance with Juniper Networks (Nasdaq: JNPR), a leading provider of best-in-class edge and core routing solutions. The agreement will connect Spirent’s Perform™ performance-management and Sentry™ fault-management operations support systems (OSS) — cornerstone components in Spirent’s CenterOp for CPN solution — with Juniper Networks E-series, a family of next-generation routing platforms created to accommodate carrier requirements for deploying IP services at the network edge. The partnership adds a key player to Spirent’s interoperability partnership program and addresses requirements from the market and a shared Tier One service provider for a unified solution to support service rollout at the edge using Juniper Networks E-1440 platform. The agreement supports the carriers’ migration to an ADM based architecture, and integration of their ADM access and MPLS IP core networks.“Juniper Networks’ position in the national carrier space is validated by our shared customers. These customers are often critical drivers for validating market trends and requesting interoperable network systems,” said Jim Schleckser, president of Spirent Communications’ Service Assurance division. “Powerful partnerships like our work with Juniper Networks allow us to enable more rapid deployment of services at the network edge, creating both faster and greater revenue streams for our carrier customers. These partnerships become even more critical as our customers transition from legacy networks towards next-generation networks, and demand the three-dimensional visibility necessary to proactively manage Quality of Service over IP-based services traversing these networks.”Spirent CommunicationsJuniper Networks Inc.
