Juniper Networks introduces E320 Broadband Services Router
June 6, 2005
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR - News) today announced a series of enhancements for its industry-leading family of E-series routing platforms. The new E320 Broadband Services Router, which is the industry's highest capacity broadband router, enables service providers to evolve beyond simple Internet access to high bandwidth and quality Infranet services. These converged voice, data and multimedia or "triple play" services require a next-generation platform that can service subscribers in large quantities with assured levels of quality, security and high availability. Also announced today are new features for the ERX routing platform.
The unprecedented performance, reliability and scale of the E320 Broadband Services Router make it the ideal platform for delivering multimedia broadband services such as IPTV, video on demand and IP telephony. Scaling from 100 to 320 Gbps of capacity, the E320 supports up to 128,000 individual subscribers. This industry leading scale dramatically reduces the price per subscriber, an important metric used by service providers to track capital expenditures.
"To deliver faster, more efficient converged solutions to our customers, we've built a single IP edge service architecture with the E-series from Juniper Networks," said Ibrahim Gedeon, CTO, TELUS. "The new E320 Broadband Services Router will enable us to scale our network as required to support TELUS' Future Friendly Home suite of services and address our growing customer base, while also reducing over time our capital and operational expenditures."
