CALABASAS, Calif. -- Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a leading, global provider of IP network testing solutions, announced today that its Ixia Custom Engineering team, also known as ICE, has added key personnel to the team to support the growing demand by customers whose products are highly complex and need fully customized solutions. ICE is being extensively utilized to develop custom, automated test solutions for such distinguished customers as Allied Telesyn, AT&T, Cisco Systems, Inc., Copper Mountain, Hitachi, HP, Nortel, NTT, Time Warner Cable, and many others.
"Copper Mountain's VantEdge supports today's complex carrier networks that must implement voice, video, and IP services," said Chris Shaver, vice president of engineering for Copper Mountain Networks. "Ixia's ICE group developed a custom script that allowed us to test these real-world scenarios in an automated environment, which enabled our testing process to be more efficient, thus reducing our testing set up time. We appreciated the development effort that the Ixia Custom Engineering team provided for us, resulting in a speedier time-to-market for our products."
ICE operates on a pre-sales and post-sales basis, providing solutions that take advantage of Ixia's flexible platform and architecture. Customers worldwide utilize the expertise of the ICE team to automate and simplify complicated test scenarios.
"Testing intelligent network devices and the networks themselves is complex and in many cases unique," said Alan Amrod, vice president of marketing for Ixia. "We have expanded the ICE team with automation specialists located at our Southern California Headquarters, in the San Francisco bay area, throughout the Eastern United States, as well as in our international operations in China and Japan, with additional resources coming soon to Europe and India. This expansion has been instrumental in allowing us to meet the growing demand of customers with highly differentiated requirements. In effect, the ICE team is a working partner for our customers, helping them achieve their development goals by exploiting the full potential of the Ixia equipment in their testbed."
