Nokia's hiring of Intel's Justin Hotard to be its new CEO has set tongues wagging again about a mobile exit, but it would look counterintuitive and inadvisable.
Dutch ISP selects Quarry Technologies’ iQ8000 Security Service Router for deployment in its network
September 15, 2003
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Quarry Technologies, the performance leading supplier of carrier-class security service routers, announced today that InTouch, a global communications service provider, has selected its iQ8000® Security Service Routers for deployment in its network. InTouch is an independent service provider based in the Netherlands deploying the iQ8000 to offer retail and wholesale network-based security services. They chose Quarry’s security service router after extensive testing and deployment, having worked with the product since beta stages in late 2002.
InTouch integrates a partner network, Intouch.net, which enables the development of tailor-made retail and ISP customer solutions that encompass network, Internet, co-location and application services. The Quarry iQ platform will be deployed to provide security services to its value-added network business partners and also to DSL-based IP and retail customers that require network-based security services. InTouch is taking advantage of Quarry’s iQSMS® Service Management Suite to allow both partners and customers to manage and control their security services through a customer self-management web portal.
“InTouch brings together value-added service providers and end-user customers to offer custom solutions. The security services requirement to support this type of network is significant, with demand for these services being high,” said Rager Ossel CEO of InTouch. “With the Quarry iQ Security Service Router we are able to bring considerable value to our partners and customers while increasing operational efficiencies.”
Providing security services such as network-based firewall, intrusion detection and secure access to IP, MPLS and Frame Relay VPNs on a per subscriber basis is enabled through Quarry’s virtual service capabilities. The system logically partitions customers on secure virtual connections so that each customer or partner can select the security services needed and then manage and control its own specific services.
“InTouch is proving an innovative business model that lets a community of partners bring total solutions to business customers,” said Ian Mashiter, president and CEO of Quarry Technologies. “We are pleased that the iQ8000 Security Service Routers are well-suited for such a leading-edge network, and are excited to contribute to the new security value that InTouch brings to its partners and customers.”
