PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP today announced an enhanced media platform to help telecom operators accelerate growth by providing their mobile and broadband customers with a wide variety of personalized, interactive multimedia services.

The HP OpenCall Media Platform 4.0 is a carrier-grade media server that handles call connections and the special digital processing that is required for services offering multimedia content, such as rich video and advanced messaging in social networking communities. By handling multimedia efficiently, HP OpenCall Media Platform helps operators deliver more attractive services, generate more revenue and increase customer loyalty.

Available for broadband and wireless networks, the platform’s powerful technology enables people to use their mobile devices and PCs to enjoy a host of personalized, interactive experiences including: interactive voice and video response systems, multimedia portals to video and music, video messaging, video blogging, audio and video conferencing, video sharing, participation TV, and personalized video ring-back tones, among others.

HP OpenCall Media Platform can run multiple interactive multimedia services on a single platform, thus enabling operators to consolidate many legacy systems – and further reduce costs.

“A rewarding, personalized experience for users translates to more revenue and less churn for operators,“ said Steve Dietch, vice president of Marketing, OpenCall Software, HP. ”To deliver this outcome for both users and operators, the HP OpenCall Media Platform incorporates years of innovation and real-world experience.”
