Scientific Atlanta executive Dr. Allen Ecker to be inducted into Georgia Institute of Technology Engineering Hall of Fame

ATLANTA -- WHAT: Dr. Allen Ecker, executive vice president of Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco Company, has been selected as a 2007 inductee into the Georgia Institute of Technology Engineering Hall of Fame.
He is being honored for his contributions to his company and the overall technology industry, as well as his unrelenting dedication to and involvement with his alma mater. He was also selected last month by the Georgia Tech Athletic Association for the 2007 Total Person Former Scholar-Athlete Award, and he has remained an active member in the Georgia Tech Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni and has served on the Board of Trustees for the External Advisory Board for the Georgia Tech School of Electrical & Computer Engineering.
Earning both his B.E.E. and M.S.E.E. from Georgia Tech, Dr. Ecker went on to provide 30 years of engineering and corporate leadership at Scientific Atlanta, which has proven instrumental in advancing the company from annual sales of $30 million in 1976 to current sales of almost $3 billion and a solid industry leadership position.
