FlexLight Networks to showcase its Optimate Gigabit PON (GPON) solution at Supercomm
June 1, 2005
ATLANTA and LONDON -- FlexLight Networks today announces it will showcase its Optimate™ Gigabit PON (GPON) solution in the ITU Pavilion at the SUPERCOMM event in Chicago - June 7-9, 2005 (booth number 76088). FlexLight’s Optimate™ solution is the world's first available GPON product family of OLT and ONTs that complies with the accepted ITU-T GPON standards G.984.1, G.984.2 and G984.3.
“With several deployments and trials among leading global carrier and service providers including Mediacom, and China Netcom, FlexLight has proven the viability of GPON technology in live networks and still has the only GPON platform that meets recently refined FSAN technical specifications supporting 2.5 Gbps / 1.25Gbps speeds and also GEM-based GPON," said Gary Lee, Chief Marketing Officer at FlexLight.
FlexLight's Optimate™ GPON solution readily addresses the need of service providers for economical and reliable voice, data and video services over a single fiber access facility. It offers the benefits of high-speed Ethernet / IP data over GPON, full support for analog and digital video, and also guarantees the E1/T1 Quality-of-Service voice customers expect from TDM services and private line tariffs.
The high bandwidth capabilities of FlexLight’s GPON offers carriers a highly flexible and scaleable platform that will easily accommodate the emergence of technologies such as HDTV and IPTV - as the interest in triple play services continues to grow.
FlexLight’s Optimate™ also supports full redundancy on the GPON network, allowing broadband access to immediately recover from fiber cuts or other outages in the fiber plant. This SDH/SONET-like recovery feature is crucial to today's service providers, and is another unique advantage of FlexLight's solution.
