SAN DIEGO -- Entropic Communications, Inc., a leading provider of systems solutions to enable connected home entertainment, today announced that Korea-based Hannet Telecom Co., Ltd. has integrated Entropic's c.LINK(tm) Access technology for its Coax To The Home (CTTH(tm)) customer premise equipment solutions.
Hannet announced its initial CTTH deployment with Areum Broadcasting Network (ABN) in Korea last week.
Hannet's CTTH solution, with Entropic's c.LINK technology, is a Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) Broadband Access Gateway capable of delivering up to 1 Gbps throughput from the fiber optic cable to the coax network providing end users with 100 Mbps throughput for data access. By integrating Entropic's c.LINK Access technology in its innovative CTTH equipment, Hannet is now able to offer Korean MSOs and cable operators a low cost and easy to deploy solution for delivering high-speed broadband access and enabling revenue-enhancing, triple-play services.
c.LINK: Cost Effective, High Speed Technology of Choice
c.LINK technology works on the existing coax infrastructure and delivers up to 100 Mbps throughput for data access making it an ideal technology choice for Hannet's CTTH initiative. By engineering a c.LINK enabled solution that works within the existing cable infrastructure found in single family homes and multi-dwelling units (MDUs), Hannet provides Korean MSOs and cable operators a cost effective way to offer high speed broadband access and advanced triple play services without having to make significant investments in new capital expenditures.
"Hannet Telecom is a technology innovator in the networking space. By leveraging our c.LINK Access technology, Hannet created the CTTH product line offering service providers an easy to deploy solution for high speed broadband access and triple play services," commented John Graham, Vice President of Marketing for Entropic Communications. "We are thrilled to be working with Hannet on their CTTH solutions and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration in the Korean market."
