Denselight Appoints Key Managers

SINGAPORE -- DenseLight Semiconductors Private Limited ("DenseLight") is pleased to announce today the appointment of three key positions in the company's management team. Mr. Gerard William Rodrigues is now Chairman of DenseLight's Board of Directors, Mr. Hin-Lee Ng joins as DenseLight's Chief Financial Officer, and Dr. Sunil B. Phatak joins as DenseLight's Vice President of Technical Marketing. Mr. Rodrigues brings more than 30 years of management experience, holding leadership positions in technology companies such as Texas Instruments, ITT Electronic Components, Data General Singapore, and Gul Technologies Singapore. Most recently, Mr. Rodrigues was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gul Technologies Singapore, which was formed through the management buyout of Data General's PCB operations, headed by Mr. Rodrigues in 1988. As DenseLight's new Chairman, Mr. Rodrigues is upbeat about the company's transition from a local firm based in Singapore to a global company serving many huge markets. To globalise the company, Mr. Rodrigues believes that besides excellent R&D, responsible corporate governance, and technical prowess, the company also needs to focus on offering a competitive edge through strong value creation in the marketplace, and a reputation for low-cost, high-performance products. Besides serving as DenseLight's Chairman, Mr. Rodrigues is also the Director of Manufacturing Integration Technology Limited, which manufactures back-end semiconductor equipment. He has been a Council Member of the Singapore Confederation of Industries since 1998, and was a Board Member of the Economic Development Board, a Statutory Board of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. DenseLight's new CFO, Hin-Lee, brings more than 20 years of experience in key financial and managerial positions, and was most recently Executive Director and CFO of Gul Technologies Singapore. In the earlier part of his career, he held several managerial positions in audit and credit administration with KPMG and Banque Paribas (Singapore), and was Financial Controller of Data General HK Ltd. Hin-Lee's broad field of experience ranges from preparing company for IPO listing, acquisition of Accudyne, a U.S. based PCB prototyping company in North Carolina, to technology collaboration and setting up of a joint venture with Teledyne Technologies. The joint venture resulted in the creation of the first manufacturer in Asia outside Japan, which specializes in Rigid-Flex PCB. His experience includes also the set up of Gul Technologies' subsidiary manufacturing base in Suzhou Industrial Park in 1998, and he is now also a Board Member of the China Suzhou Industrial Park Boai School. "DenseLight is well-placed to take advantage of the growth potential of an exciting niche sector," said Hin-Lee. Phatak brings more than twenty years of optical networking experience prior to joining DenseLight, mostly with AT&T and Lucent Technologies,. Before AT&T, Sunil worked at ITT Electro Optical Products. His extensive experiences ranges from optical components to network systems and architectures, and has held several leadership positions in R&D, Product Realization, and Sales & Marketing.
