SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Foundry Networks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:FDRY), a leading provider of high-performance switching, routing and Web traffic management solutions for enterprises and service providers, today announced that the latest survey conducted by the Dell'Oro Group shows the ServerIron(R) Layer 4 - 7 Web Switch product family extended its number one overall position into Q1, 2002 based on port shipments. Foundry's ServerIron Web switches have led the Layer 4 - 7 market for three consecutive years. Foundry's number one overall market share was accompanied by the number one position in the strategic and fast-growing chassis-based Layer 4 - 7 segment based on port shipments during the period, a nearly 3-to-1 lead over its nearest competitor. Foundry was also the number one vendor in Gigabit ports shipped. The chassis segment is particularly important for customers building large server farms with Gigabit NICs to handle high trafficked public Internet sites as well as Web-enabled enterprise applications for financial planning, operations and human resource services. "We have continued to set the pace in Layer 4 - 7 innovation that has made the ServerIron product family the most feature-rich, high-performance solution for our customers' traffic management requirements. And that is what we see reflected in our market share," said Bobby Johnson, president and CEO of Foundry Networks. "Foundry is committed to providing end-to-end network infrastructure solutions to both enterprise and service provider customers by offering industry-leading performance, scalability, features and value in Foundry's FastIron(R) Layer 2/3 switches, BigIron(R) Layer 3 switches, NetIron(R) Metro routers and ServerIron Layer 4 - 7 traffic management switches," continued Johnson.
