Service providers on Cometa Networks' hotspot network get the option to utilize CSG Systems' outsourced retail billing solution

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. and SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- CSG Systems (Nasdaq: CSGS - News), a leading global provider of customer care and billing solutions, and Cometa Networks, Inc, a wholesale provider of public Wi-Fi (802.11) wireless broadband Internet access sites, today announced a multi-year agreement providing service providers on the Cometa Hotspot(SM) network with the option to utilize CSG's outsourced retail billing solution.

The CSG solution, designed and developed with Cometa Networks, allows service providers entering the Wi-Fi market using the Cometa Hotspot network to leverage a comprehensive retail billing solution, including online service marketing, user enrolment, credit card authentication and processing, and online customer care.

With the CSG solution, service providers such as cable operators, telecommunications companies, wireless carriers and ISPs can, in a matter of weeks, achieve a complete outsourced retail billing solution that is fully integrated into the growing Cometa Hotspot network. plaNet Consulting, a division of CSG Systems and award-winning business and technology solutions consultancy specializing in e-commerce, data warehouse, business process consulting and web portals, played a key role in ensuring that CSG's billing solution was deployed within Cometa's aggressive timeframe.

Cometa has previously announced wholesale agreements with AT&T Wireless, Sprint, AT&T and iPass to offer retail Wi-Fi services. By the end of the year, Cometa Hotspots will be available at over 250 locations in the Seattle metro area (including Barnes & Noble Bookstores, McDonald's restaurants, Tully's Coffee, World Wrapps, major office towers in downtown Seattle and Bellevue, golf courses and shopping centres) and over 70 McDonald's locations in the New York Tri-State area. Cometa is working with major national and regional retail partners, real estate firms and educational institutions to deploy its broadband wireless sites throughout the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas.

Cometa selected CSG's outsourced retail billing solution for its scalability and ability to quickly launch service to support Cometa's aggressive market launch timetables.
