Corning, Cisco in Strategic Alliance

A non-exclusive alliance to develop pre-engineered optical solutions

CORNING, N.Y. -- Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW - news) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO - news) today announced a strategic alliance to deliver IP+ optical solutions to their service provider customers. By combining Corning's expertise and leadership in optical fiber and photonic products with Cisco's expertise in Internet scale optical networking solutions, the alliance will work together to speed deployment of optical infrastructures. These solutions are expected to reduce service providers' time to market and the cost of deploying the optical network.
