December 19, 2006
ATLANTA -- Concurrent (NASDAQ: CCUR), a worldwide leader of on-demand technology that is shaping the future of television, announced today the deployment of its one millionth video stream. The historic milestone was achieved via a recent shipment to Cogeco, which launched VOD with Concurrent in 2002 and is now upgrading their Ontario systems to accommodate increased on-demand traffic.
“This is a great way to wrap up the year,” stated Gary Trimm, CEO of Concurrent. “One million video streams actively deployed worldwide is quite an accomplishment, and a testament to the importance all our customers place on our reliability and innovation in the on-demand industry.”
“Since launching on-demand in 2002, we have relied on Concurrent technology to keep us competitive and current,” said Denis Bélanger, vice president, corporate engineering and development, Cogeco Cable. “Because of the reliability and stability of the Concurrent platform, our on-demand buy rate has grown significantly since our initial launch of the product and Concurrent continues to support us very well through this high growth period.”
