Comcast Executive Vice President David L. Cohen said, "I am very proud of the first-class team we have assembled to represent our company in Washington, DC. Melissa joins Kerry Knott, Jim Coltharp, Jessica Wallace and Brian Kelly to advocate on behalf of the new Comcast and the cable industry to legislators and policy makers."

Knott said, "Melissa will be a tremendous addition to our team. We're thrilled to have Melissa join our growing federal affairs group. I believe we have a great team in place to represent Comcast's interests during very exciting times for this industry."

Sen. Daschle said, "Comcast will benefit greatly from the rare combination of intelligence, energy and ability that has made Melissa Maxfield such a valuable component of every organization in which she has been involved. Melissa has been an essential part of my political family, and I wish her all the best as she takes on this exciting new opportunity."
