July 14, 2009
LONDON -- COLT, a leading European provider of business communications, has been awarded a new 10 million Euro contract by Sdu Uitgevers N.V. This five year deal will see COLT providing the Netherlands’ leading print and online publishing company with virtualisation and data centre services as part of a holistic managed services solution that addresses the company’s business critical needs. Today’s announcement further establishes COLT as a key player in the managed services market.
As part of the agreement with COLT, Sdu Uitgevers will migrate its existing Den Haag based data centre to COLT’s Amsterdam data centre whilst also transferring more than 450 applications into a new virtualised environment. As a result, Sdu Uitgevers will benefit from a faster time to market, optimisation of its IT infrastructure, enhancement of its IT security and improved regulatory compliance.
Maggy McClelland, Managing Director of COLT Managed Services says, “COLT’s expertise has enabled us to deliver virtualisation technology on top of our traditional data centre offering to Sdu Uitgevers. This contract demonstrates our commitment to, and experience in, taking end-to-end responsibility for the security, availability and continuity of scalable IT processes and computing for large organisations across Europe.”
