DERRY, N.H. -- Cedar Point Communications, Inc., the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for service provider and enterprise telecommunications, and TransNational Communications, Inc., a national reseller of voice and data services, today announced an agreement that signifies a major strategic advance for both companies. For Cedar Point, it marks the company’s entry into the competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) market. For TNCI, traditionally a switchless reseller, it marks the introduction of their first facilities-based offering; a VoIP solution optimized for small and medium-sized businesses.
Under the agreement, TransNational Communications (TNCI) will deploy Cedar Point’s SAFARI C³ Multimedia Switching System within its nationwide network. The multi-million dollar pact calls for TNCI to utilize the integrated SAFARI C³ switch and Cedar Point support services for the provision of voice services to several hundred thousand lines over the next 24 to 36 months.
Sentri, Inc., a deployment and support partner of Cedar Point, assisted in the finalization of the agreement.
“The continual evolution of the telecommunications landscape has dictated the need for highly flexible voice over IP solutions that deliver the same carrier-class performance business subscribers have come to expect from their telephone services,” said Brian Twomey, president of TNCI. “We are confident that the SAFARI C³ will simply, cost-effectively, and with a high degree of scalability, play an integral part in our ability to deliver these types of solutions today and fulfill our commitment to migrate to new, advanced voice and multimedia services in the future.”
“From the earliest days of Cedar Point, we understood the value that SAFARI C³ could bring to competitive and incumbent local exchange carriers,” said George Kassas, founder and executive vice president, business development for Cedar Point. “TNCI’s choice to partner with Cedar Point Communications, making the SAFARI C³ a critical component in their current and future technology roadmap, is further validation of the strength of our solution. We look forward to working with TNCI to provide high-quality, highly-reliable services for their customers. We also recognize and highly value the contribution of our partner Sentri in the forming of this agreement.”
“There has been continued demand in the CLEC, enterprise and campus markets for solutions that will reduce the complexity of deploying VoIP and advanced multimedia services,” said Alex Beletsky, principal and CEO of Sentri. “Our discussions with both prospects and customers have shown that SAFARI C³, by incorporating all of the VoIP elements into a single carrier-class unit, uniquely fits the need to simplify delivery of advanced voice, multimedia, fixed-mobile convergence and disaster recovery.”
