ANDOVER, Mass. -- Casa Systems, a worldwide leader in next generation cable edge technology, today announced the launch of a new downstream module that adds Full Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) functionality to its carrier class C10G Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) platform. This new module enables MSOs to deploy DOCSIS, IPTV and MPEG video on a single chassis from day one and greatly increases channel density over existing CMTS modules on the market.

The DS8x96 module delivers an industry leading 96 channels per port including 32 channels of narrowcast and 64 channels of broadcast for a total of 768 channels per module. With the possibility of eleven primary DS8x96 modules and one protection module in a C10G, a combination of over 8000 narrowcast and broadcast channels can be supported in the downstream direction within the C10G.

Casa Systems is demonstrating Integrated-CCAP functionality, including the delivery of MPEG video, IPTV, and DOCSIS over a single port on its DS8x96 module at NCTA, The Cable Show, May 21-23 in Boston. In addition Casa will show its full range of DOCSIS 3.0 CMTSs in its booth, #1523.
