MARLSBOROUGH, Mass., and MAIDENHEAD, U.K. -- Camiant, Inc., the leading provider of policy control and application assurance technology, today announced it has been selected by one of the largest global mobile telecommunications groups as the preferred provider for policy control solutions. Camiant’s Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE) provides the telecommunications group with the ability to ensure the highest quality user experience and delivery of broadband services. Initial deployments at several of the telecom group’s operating companies representing over 50 million subscribers have already been completed.
After completing a comprehensive review of competitive solutions, the company chose Camiant’s MPE as the best in class policy and charging rules function (PCRF) to meet the diverse needs of its global operating companies. These operators are looking to increase network intelligence for real-time control of network resources and the ability to proactively optimize capacity, all while offering compelling new services, applications and pricing.
Under the agreement, the mobile telecommunications group’s operating companies are able to leverage Camiant’s MPE with the confidence that the group has rigorously tested and approved its use as the PCRF of choice. Camiant's MPE, using 3GPP* compliant interfaces will provide dynamic bandwidth, pricing and quota management, enabling differentiated service offerings and pricing options.
“By naming a preferred vendor for its operating companies, global telecom groups such as this are able to cut down on the time and legwork required for each individual company to deploy a policy control solution and provide consistency across geographies in controlling network utilization and ensuring application performance,” said Shira Levine, Directing Analyst, Next Gen OSS and Policy at Infonetics Research. “This designation as a preferred PCRF provider provides Camiant with the opportunity to gain significant market share in the wireless policy server market.”
