BETHPAGE, N.Y. -- Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) today announced that its award-winning high-speed Internet service, Optimum Online, recently surpassed the 2 million-customer milestone. The nation’s fastest broadly-deployed Internet services for the home – now increasingly chosen by small businesses as well – Optimum Online continues to lead the nation in market acceptance, providing service to 44 percent of the homes passed by Cablevision’s fiber-rich network.
“Optimum Online was one of the nation’s first broadband services, and in many ways it created a template for a successful high-speed Internet product – delivering fast and reliable Internet connections that let our customers do more online, as the medium itself developed and became an increasingly central and important tool in people’s lives,” said Tom Rutledge, Cablevision’s chief operating officer. “We want to thank our customers for allowing us to surpass this key milestone, and for continuing to recognize the speed, reliability and clear value proposition of Optimum Online.”
