SAN JOSE, Calif. -- NETGEAR(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: NTGR) a worldwide provider of technologically innovative, branded networking solutions, today announced that its embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter for cable operators, Cable eMTA (CVD31XT), for delivering Data and Packetcable(TM) Voice, received DOCSIS(R) 3.0 and PacketCable 1.5 certification in CableLabs(R) Certification Wave 64. DOCSIS 3.0 specifies support for at least four bonded channels downstream and four bonded channels upstream. "We're very pleased to be able to offer the DOCSIS 3.0 and PacketCable 1.5-certified CVD31XT to our cable operator customers worldwide. It provides voice service capability combined with the strategic performance advantage of DOCSIS 3.0, which gives them a competitive advantage in Triple Play service delivery," said David James, director of product management for NETGEAR. "Achieving these Certifications from CableLabs for our eMTA is yet another milestone in innovation for NETGEAR as we continue to expand our product line designed specifically to serve the cable market."
