Brix adds ATM capability to its 'Verifier' service assurance product line, extending performance management to multiservice networks
December 11, 2002
CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Brix Networks (www.brixnet.com), the trusted provider of real-time service assurance solutions for real-time networks, today introduced a new two-port, OC-3 Media Module that adds Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) functionality to its Brix 2500 (TM) Verifier service assurance appliance. The functionality and versatility of the modular Brix 2500 provides a new level of visibility into the performance of multiservice access networks, backbone networks, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and enterprise networks. Combined with Brix Networks' full active and passive test suites, the 2500 Verifier, which can actively test tens of thousands of VoIP, Web, e-mail, and other network services, provides complete network-to-application layer performance management. The purpose-built Brix 2500 delivers carrier-class reliability. When used in conjunction with the BrixWorx (TM) central-site software system, or, optionally, Brix 100 (TM) (corporate premises) or Brix 1000 (TM) Verifiers (enterprise data centers and provider points-of-presence), it provides real-time, end-to-end, service assurance and performance management. "ATM is often the preferred Layer 2 protocol with many providers, such as RBOCs and PTTs, for running IP, voice, and VPN services," noted Jamie Warter, vice president of marketing and business development at Brix Networks. "The addition of this new OC-3 ATM Module for the Brix 2500, combined with the existing capabilities of the industry's highest performing and most comprehensive IP verification platform, makes our proven service assurance and performance monitoring solution an even more compelling offering in those markets."
