Google search results and targeted advertisements now available to BellSouth retail dialup and DSL Internet subscribers

ATLANTA and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Google Inc., developer of the largest performance-based search advertising program, and BellSouth [NYSE: BLS] today announced a multi-year agreement whereby Google's award-winning search results and targeted advertisements are available through BellSouth's home page for Internet customers. BellSouth's Internet customer portal is available in English at www.home.bellsouth.net or Spanish at www.miportal.bellsouth.net. BellSouth Internet customers now have access to billions of web pages through Google's highly relevant search technology.

"BellSouth initiated a lengthy and rigorous evaluation in determining which search provider offers the best user experience for our customers," said Tim Hill, director of Portal Services for BellSouth. "Google's technologically-advanced search capabilities and targeted ads on the BellSouth portal represent a win for both our Internet subscribers and BellSouth."

The addition of Google search capabilities to BellSouth's Internet Services portfolio complements a robust and customizable Web portal. BellSouth brings the best of the Internet to customers with great online activities such as Internet Radio, online games, music videos, short film clips, ABCNews On Demand and much more. BellSouth is one of the only ISPs to provide 700k high-quality streaming video and also offers full-length feature films from Movielink. These features, plus horoscopes, chat rooms and BellSouth's zero pop-up ads policy, are available to all BellSouth retail dial and DSL Internet Service customers.

Additionally, Google partner sites earn revenue by serving targeted search advertisements on content and search result pages from Google's worldwide network of more than 150,000 advertisers.
