Bright House's Gregory Babinski is SCTE Cable Games ’08 champion

PHILADELPHIA -- Representing SCTE Region 9 and the SCTE Central Florida Chapter, Gregory Babinski of Bright House Networks and New Port Richey, Fla., outpaced a field of 28 competitors and captured the 18th Annual SCTE International Cable-Tec Games overall title Thursday evening in Philadelphia.
The popular event, sponsored by CommScope and SCTE, comprised competitors from across the United States and Canada who had qualified for the annual International Games after winning their local competitions.
SCTE conducted the International Games as part of the 25th Anniversary SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2008, SCTE’s flagship event, which began Tuesday and concludes this afternoon at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
Chad Whitesel of Comcast, the SCTE Penn-Ohio Chapter, and Carrolltown, Pa., took second-place overall. He was representing SCTE Region 11. Meanwhile, Bob Colwell of Comcast, the SCTE New England Chapter, and Portsmouth, N.H., achieved third-place overall. His chapter is located in SCTE Region 12.
