ORLANDO, Fla. -- muvee Device Solutions Group [DSG], the pioneer and leader in video editing applications for mobile devices, today announced it will be demonstrating its new suite of HD video editing tools for Android operating systems at CTIA App World Pod #2895A. Available for handset manufacturers and operators, the suite of 9 separate tools enables HD video editing on today's Android-based devices without an increase in manufacturing costs for more main memory and faster CPUs.

"Consumers have shown that capturing videos is not enough," said Terence Swee, CEO, muvee. "They want to be able to do something worthwhile with it. Very often this is as simple as trimming it to size, removing that segment where you uttered something objectionable, to just replacing it with a music track. There is no reason why consumers should not be able to do that right there on the phone."

An ideal platform for editing and sharing videos, the Android OS continues to experience explosive growth. Recent reports from Nielsen Company and Gartner both show the Android OS dominating smartphone sales in the US. In its analysis of smartphone sales for the last 6 months of 2010, the Neilsen Company shows the Android with a 43 percent market share in the US. Gartner recently reported that manufacturers shipped 67.2 million Android smartphones last year, up from 6.8 million in 2009.

"Even video editing on the PC has been a rather enthusiast crowd," Swee added. "We don't expect consumers to suddenly want to make their next Hollywood blockbuster on the smaller screens with a touch interface. However, what consumers will want to do are simple quick edits to package the video they have shot. We enable them to do just that, using radically fast technology to reduce drain on battery and remove the need for large main memory on device."
