LAS VEGAS -- Allot Communications, the Traffic Management Company, today announced availability of its new NetEnforcer AC- 1040 at NetWorld+Interop. Building upon the strength of the award-winning AC- 1000 architecture, the NetEnforcer AC-1040 offers enterprises a high performance, high-availability device that is designed for today's redundant network topologies.

Allot's NetEnforcer AC-1000 series is a carrier-grade traffic management platform, delivering policy-based traffic/network monitoring, Layer 2-7 traffic shaping and frontline network security features for the most advanced service provider and enterprise networks. Dozens of Fortune 1000 enterprises have deployed Allot's carrier-grade series to optimize the performance of their mission-critical networked applications, and to ensure the quality of VoIP and video traffic. Its fault-tolerant design, including hot-swappable power supplies, dual power feeds and automatic failover protection, delivers the features, power and reliability needed to succeed in today's most demanding network environments.

The new AC-1040 supports up to four Fast-Ethernet links; wire-speed traffic management and QoS; traffic monitoring and reporting capabilities; and the industry's most intuitive user interface. From a centralized data center location, Allot's per-flow queuing technology and advanced policy-based traffic management can effortlessly control the performance of voice, data and video sessions to many remote offices. Because it supports 4 links, Allot's newest model is ideal for the redundant, multi-homed, meshed network designs found in sophisticated enterprise data centers.

"In the enterprise market, some competitors are aggressively pushing solutions that force the mass deployment of branch based units at each remote office," said Azi Ronen, executive vice president of marketing and technology for Allot. "They typically recommend upgrading all units with compression algorithms as well. For any size organization, with dozens -- up to thousands -- of remote locations, the TCO of this approach can be staggering, not to mention the complexities associated with managing so many devices remotely without local technical expertise. Given the trend towards data center consolidation, we find that many organizations can deploy Allot's high performance devices, equipped with QoS algorithms and powerful monitoring functions as a centralized solution to assure application response time and achieve virtually all the functionality of remote office deployments at a small fraction of the cost."
