CHICAGO -- Allot Communications, the Traffic Management Company, today announced the availability of Version 6.1.1, which delivers a series of powerful software enhancements to its NetEnforcer AC-1000 carrier-grade family that help service providers stay ahead of the rapidly evolving demands of their customers.

Allot’s AC-1000 series is the industry’s most powerful traffic management platform, delivering policy-based traffic/network monitoring, Layer 2-7 traffic shaping and frontline network security features for the most advanced service provider and large enterprise networks. Version 6.1.1 doubles performance with support for 1 million simultaneous network connections, giving carriers even greater capacity for centralized POP deployments in major metro markets.

Allot’s Version 6.1.1 release delivers a host of additional new software enhancements, including:

  • A new subscriber management interface to external provisioning systems - capable of systematically conveying subscriber-level traffic management policies to the AC-1000 series at a rate of more than 100 service creation updates per second.

  • Enhanced support for all common VoIP environments – including SIP, H.323 and Skype

  • Up-to-date recognition, classification and control for new and evolving P2P protocols, including: Ares; Ares Lite; Ares Galaxy; Warez; Filecroc; Exosee; FileTopia; Freenet; Frost; Furthur; Hopster; Hotline; Manolito; Mute; Overnet (eDonkey client); Share; SoulSeek; Waste; and all existing versions of Winny.

  • Updated support for a wide variety of Instant messaging applications, including: MSN File Transfer and Chat, Yahoo File Transfer and Chat, IRC and AOL-ICQ.

The company also announced today its new NetRedirector™ add-on software module. NetRedirector, designed for AC-1000 deployments in service provider environments, redirects active subscribers to captive portals and/or redirects unregistered users to servers for automated authentication and registration.

“Allot’s new NetEnforcer software load delivers a powerful set of enhancements we can leverage now, plus some additional features we’ll need in the near future,” said Tony Mau, President of Diversified Interests for Long Lines. Based in Sergeant Bluff, IA, Long Lines is a leading provider of phone, cable TV, Internet and other services to more than 80 communities in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. “All of today’s software announcements are very supportive and synergistic with Long Lines’ aggressive triple-play activities in the Midwest.”
