Aircom International and Teradata form strategic partnership

BARCELONA -- AIRCOM International and Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC) todayannounced a strategic partnership between the two companies to delivercomprehensive network monitoring, integrated with an enterprise datawarehouse solution from Teradata for global telecommunicationsoperators.

2.5G and 3G telecommunication networks generate complex and extremelylarge volumes of data. The next generation of telecomunication networks(4G) will significantly increase data management complexity. As aresult, telecom operators will require an even greater level ofscalablability and reliability in their enterprise data warehouseplatform to assure high quality and seamless service to theircustomers. The need for business intelligence will continue to grow,and enabling AIRCOM's ENTERPRISE suite to run with Teradata technologywill singificantly benefit customers who wish to make best use of thevast quantities of data available to them.

AIRCOM's Operational Support System (OSS) tools, such as OPTIMA, provideoperators with a near-real-time market snapshot, enabling them toimmediately identify and remedy any issues taking place within thenetwork and the ability to consider a number of 'what if' networkoptimisation and marketing scenarios. Data stored in the Teradatawarehouse will be used by OPTIMA so telecom operators can, for example,identify customers for whom QoS (quality of service) is key and takesteps to immediately prioritize issues affecting them.
