CHICAGO -- AgilentTechnologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced the industry's mostcomprehensive multiservices test solution for converging voice and datanetworks. The Agilent N2X multiservice tester is the first to combineleading-edge services testing with carrier-grade infrastructure testing andemulation. The N2X solution set allows network equipment suppliers andservice providers to more comprehensively test new services end-to-end,resulting in higher quality of service and lower network operating costs.

Today's communications networks for voice and data are convergingonto a single infrastructure designed to both reduce costs and enable newservices. These networks are based on multifunction networking elements thatare significantly more complicated to test. Furthermore, the proliferationof new services is increasing the diversity of deployed networkarchitectures. Previous generations of test equipment focused on verifyingthe functionality of individual devices or in emulating only a portion of anetwork. This approach is inadequate for testing new leading-edge servicesover a wide variety of networking architectures.

CHICAGO-- Agilent TechnologiesInc. (NYSE: A) today announced enhancements to its industry-leading OmniBEROTN communication performance analyzer used for next-generation SONET/SDH(NG SONET) technologies. It is the first test instrument to offer GenericFraming Procedure (GFP), Virtual Concatenation (VCat), Ethernet payload, andLink Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS) measurement capabilities.

The OmniBER OTN's advanced analysis capabilities for NG SONET give designand test engineers deep insight into standards conformance and quality ofservice (QoS), as well as help resolve multivendor interoperabilityproblems. By combining the best features of the widely deployed SONET/SDHstandards with new approaches to efficiently transport broadband data, component suppliers and network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) are buildinga migration path for service providers to offer new services along withlower network operating costs.

CHICAGO -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) isdemonstrating the capabilities of its industry-leading Agilent N2X OC-786cPOS XS test card using the new Cisco Carrier Routing System. Thedemonstration, held at Cisco's booth no. 25910 at Supercomm, showcasesnext-generation routing performance to enable integrated voice, video, anddata services over Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The Agilent N2X E7320B40G card allows network equipment manufacturers and service providers toverify the scalability and resiliency of the highest rate line cards interabit routers used for next-generation IP/MPLS (multiprotocol labelswitching) core networks.

As the need for next-generation IP services such as MPLS-based virtualprivate networks (VPNs), multicast, and voice over IP (VoIP) continues toincrease, the need for high-bandwidth capacity and scalability of devices incarrier networks is paramount. The next-generation 40G devices facilitatethe scalability and resiliency requirements needed to deliver theserevenue-generating services.
