Agilent Technologies opens two new facilities in Malaysia for R&D and manufacturing of new technologies

PENANG, Malaysia -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A - News) today announced that it has opened two new facilities in Penang, Malaysia that will include a research and development center, design and metrology labs, and manufacturing lines of Agilent's latest test and measurement instruments and semiconductor products. The Asia Pacific region is Agilent's strongest growth area, with Agilent Malaysia playing a pivotal role in developing and expanding the markets in the region. Nearly 40 percent of Agilent's total orders and revenue originate in the Asia Pacific market. In highlighting the success of Agilent's operations in Penang, Agilent Chairman, President and CEO Ned Barnholt said, "Agilent Malaysia is a solid contributor to the region in areas such as technology innovation, world-class manufacturing, and strong customer relationships.
