SAN FRANCISCO -- AEP Systems announces the latest release of AEP SureWare A-Gate AG-600, a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) VPN designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and for departments within large organizations. Today’s release includes an easy-to-use Web management interface, enhanced security features, load balancing and high availability, and is RSA SecureID® certified. The product supports 400 concurrent users and sells for a one-time price of $8995.00 per appliance with no extra licensing fees or costly consulting contracts.

“AEP Systems has bucked the trend set by the majority of the market to carve out a niche for themselves early. AEP Systems targets the SMB (small and medium-sized business) space at a time when the rest of the market is targeting the large enterprise space. AEP Systems offers simple solutions at the lowest prices to become channel friendly and to specifically target smaller networks,” said Jason Wright, Senior Analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

Frost & Sullivan isn’t the only analyst group to see a niche in the mid-sized enterprise market. In a report published by IDC earlier this year, analyst Merle Sandler said, “The eight million small and medium-sized businesses in the United States have become an increasingly attractive target market for providers of advanced technology products and services.”

“We have customers in the hospitality, publishing and healthcare industries, as well as in local governments who use SureWare A-Gate to solve their remote access problems,” said Rob Lane, VP of Product Management at AEP Systems. “The new addition of high availability and load balancing allows up to 16 appliances to be configured together, which makes A-Gate a good choice for growing businesses and departments within large organizations.”
