MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com) today announced the addition of a variable amplifier to the RF Worx(R) SignalOn Series(TM) platform for video-on-demand, high-speed data and IP telephony applications in multiple system operator (MSO) networks. ADC will demonstrate the RF Worx SignalOn Series platform in its booth #1348 at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Orlando, June 16-18.

Leveraging more than a decade of RF Worx amplifier design experience, ADC's new SignalOn Series amplifier features 50 MHz to 1 GHz operation with superior RF performance. GaAS technology and a near-100 percent surface mount design result in a low noise figure, low distortion characteristics, and high reliability. The slide-on power bus connection features robust gold-on-gold contacts and requires no cabling. The amplifier and associated power supplies can be housed in the same chassis as the SignalOn Series passive products, supporting greater headend design flexibility.

"The addition of the amplifier further positions RF Worx SignalOn Series as the platform of choice for carrier-class services," said Brian Tamminen, senior product manager for ADC. "Top operators around the globe have already switched over to the benefits of SignalOn, and the introduction of our new active line gives engineers more alternatives as they design their networks."
