SAN DIEGO -- Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, today announced its Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA(R)) silicon, the EN2510, powers the Actiontec WCB3000, the latest MoCA-to-Wi-Fi(R) network adapter in Actiontec's Whole Home Wireless portfolio. The new device will be on display this week at the IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam at the RAI Convention Center, September 13-17, 2013, at Entropic's Meeting Suite in Hall 13 -- Suite G106/G017.

According to Actiontec's Spring 2013 Connected Home study on U.S. domestic Wi-Fi habits, 72 percent of the 1200 respondents reported at least one wireless problem or deficiency in their wireless Internet, and 67 percent experienced Wi-Fi dropouts while checking e-mail. As whole-home multiscreen use increases, current Wi-Fi networks will become increasingly insufficient in the face of rising bandwidth and coverage demands.

The new Actiontec WCB3000 solves Wi-Fi coverage problems by using Entropic's MoCA technology to reliably extend the Wi-Fi signal to more places in the home--distributing broadband coverage over the home's existing coax wiring.
