GERMANTOWN, Md. -- Acterna (Nasdaq:ACTR) today announced the launch of the Acterna FST-2510A TestPad High Speed Optical Analyzer. The Acterna FST-2510A enables global service providers to decrease time to revenue and time to repair as they deploy and maintain DS1 to 10 Gbit/s services in metro and DWDM networks. As multi-service provisioning platforms in metro networks are deployed in greater numbers, service providers are seeking new ways to equip the workforce with a single test solution covering numerous technologies. The Acterna FST-2510A allows technicians to install and maintain electrical and optical (SONET/SDH) services and network elements with a single module. Portable and Feature Rich "Providers are focusing on enabling high speed Internet connectivity and converging multiple technologies by deploying multi-service provisioning platforms in metro networks," said Jerry Gentile, vice president of strategic marketing for access networks. "The TestPad platform is the only 'power box' product of its kind that can address all of these technologies through a single test instrument." The Acterna FST-2510A TestPad will be showcased with a variety of new broadband networking solutions at Supercomm in Atlanta, June 4-6, at Acterna booth 23246.
