SHENZHEN, China -- ZTE Corporation, the fastest growing global provider of telecommunication equipment and network solutions, has been selected by GTS Central Europe, a leading regional telecommunication provider to business, corporate and international carriers, to deploy an ultra long haul DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) backbone transmission network spanning Eastern and Western Europe.

The new network will enable GTS Central Europe (GTS CE) to extend the existing connection between Frankfurt in Germany, Prague in the Czech Republic and Bratislava in Slovakia.

"This contract is an indication of the increasing strength of the Eastern European economies and their systematic integration with Western European markets. ZTE is delighted to be helping GTS CE's development as a major regional telecommunication provider," said Mr. Guo Jun, president of ZTE Central & Eastern Europe. "To date ZTE has won several global DWDM contracts worldwide, including Germany, Poland, Romania, India, Pakistan and Hong Kong. We are winning increasing numbers of contracts in Europe as operators and carriers see the quality of our systems and services operating directly in their markets."
