ADC invests and gets component supply contract

YAFO Networks Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of fiber optic subsystem solutions, today announced that it has completed a second round of funding in the amount of $31 million, bringing the company's total funding to nearly $40 million.
The second round of funding comes from the MCI WorldCom Venture Fund, ADC Ventures, Mellon Ventures Inc., and Wheatley Partners as well as 1st round investors New Enterprise Associates, U.S. Venture Partners and Boulder Ventures. YAFO Networks received $8 million in first round funding in June 1999.
As part of the second round funding agreement, an executive from MCI WorldCom Venture Fund has been appointed to YAFO Networks' board of directors. Also YAFO Networks has entered into a supply agreement under which ADC (Nasdaq: ADCT; www.adc.com) will provide optical components to YAFO.
