STOCKHOLM -- Xelerated today unveiled its 10 Gbps network processor offering, featuring three devices - the X10, the X10d and the X10q - with one, two and four 10 Gbps ports respectively. It is the industry's first offering with multiple 10 Gbps ports in a single chip. "Xelerated offers a high-capacity network processor solution that meets the rigorous demands of established system vendors by combining the much-wanted programmability with guaranteed wire-speed performance. Based on discussions with customers, we have seen that traditional approaches, such as RISC and configurable state machine solutions, are not viable for high-end systems," said Johan Börje, CEO, Xelerated. Thanks to the port density, the Xelerator(tm) NPUs have the best form factor for 10 Gbps solutions, resulting in the lowest power consumption, smallest footprint and lowest chip count on the market. With the Xelerator(tm) offering, a complete family of switch/router line cards can be built, providing solutions for line rates ranging from STS 1 to 10 Gbps, Dual 10 Gbps and Quad 10 Gbps. As part of Xelerated's solutions offering, interoperability has already been validated with best-in-class products from leading component vendors such as IDT, PMC-Sierra, NetLogic and Infineon. In a separate release:Xelerated, the leading developer of high-performance network processors and traffic managers, will give a live demonstration of a 10 Gbps wire-speed network processing solution at Networld+Interop in Las Vegas next week. Xelerated's Director of Business Development will also participate in the Network Processing Summit at Networld+Interop.Xelerated's Network Processor Evaluation Board Demo both verifies interoperability with surrounding circuitry and validates Xelerated's programmable PISC(tm) (Packet Instruction Set Computer) architecture. The evaluation board also shows IPv4, IPv6 and MPLS applications running at 10 Gbps wire-speed over SPI-4.2. The FPGA, with a system clock of only 50 Mhz, contains all essential functionality of the soon-to-be-released Xelerator(tm) Network Processors (NPUs). The NPUs will be the industry's first offering with multiples of 10 Gbps ports, running with a system clock of up to 200 MHz. Xelerated's clock-cycle accurate simulator will also be demonstrated.Xelerated AB
