MERRIMACK, N.H. -- Xanoptix Inc, the technology leader in chip hybridization and high density parallel optics announces that it has completed the acquisition of AraLight, Inc, manufacturer of high-density opto-electronic components. This acquisition strengthens Xanoptix’s multichip hybridization and parallel optics intellectual property portfolio and consolidates its leadership in high-channel density 850 nm parallel optics transceivers. Xanoptix received all the rights to AraLight's issued, pending and assigned patents and trademarks, and product designs.

AraLight, a spinout of Bell Labs, was formed in 2001 and together with Xanoptix commercialized chip hybridization technology for highly dense optical transceivers. "We are pleased to be able to continue the innovative concepts brought forth by AraLight and combine them with our own to greatly reinforce our leadership position in this exciting breakthrough technology", said Rob Baxter CEO of Xanoptix. "Xanoptix has demonstrated its ability to bring hybridization and advanced parallel optics to reality and we are pleased to combine forces to establish clear leadership in the marketplace", said Steve Socolof of New Venture Partners, LLP, founding investor in AraLight.
