WOW! increases value of triple play offering with Integra5’s TV Caller ID
April 2, 2007
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Integra5, the pioneer in enabling cable and IPTV service providers to blend quad play bundles into converged services for simultaneous delivery across TVs and PCs, today announced that WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone, a leading provider of bundled services in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio, has deployed its TV Caller ID application throughout its entire market footprint. The new TV Caller ID application, powered by the company’s i5 Converged Services Platform (CSP), underscores WOW!’s commitment to service innovation and will help drive competitive differentiation for its triple play bundle.
WOW! began as a cable TV provider in 1996 and continued to build a highly competitive offering that today includes digital cable, high-speed Internet and Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone service – in addition to advanced services, such as HDTV and DVRs. WOW! is offering TV Caller ID – which displays the names and numbers of incoming phone calls on up to three TV sets in a home before the phone even rings – for a monthly fee of $2 to customers who subscribe to both its digital cable and VoIP services.
“WOW! is committed to providing converged services that add value to our bundles,” said Cathy Kuo, senior vice president of marketing and sales at WOW!. “Caller ID is an important feature for our customers, and Integra5’s TV Caller ID is a natural extension that is sure to enhance their bundled services experience.”
Integra5’s IMS-compatible i5 CSP features patented technology and allows service providers to quickly deliver real-time, converged communications and content across triple and quad play services –including voice, video, data and wireless– to any IP device, including TVs and PCs. Its network- and standards-based distributed architecture has the processing performance required for real-time delivery and management of signals and information between data, telephone (public switched and IP), cable TV (traditional and IPTV) and cellular networks.
“WOW! is the largest customer we have announced to date, and its TV Caller ID deployment provides further evidence of a trend we’re seeing across our business – the adoption of converged services by top service providers,” said Meredith Flynn-Ripley, chief executive officer at Integra5. “Integra5 is uniquely suited to support this evolution. Providing an intelligent network layer that is scalable to millions of subscribers and enabling the rapid rollout of i5 pre-packaged or third-party applications, only the i5 CSP offers limitless opportunities to go beyond the bundle to cement customer loyalty and generate new revenue streams.”
