EVERGREEN, Colo. -- Wisper Telecommunications, Inc. (d/b/a WisperTel), one of the nation's leading providers of wireless broadband solutions headquartered in Evergreen, today announced it has acquired Path / Broadband Services, Inc. Path provides wireless Internet service in and around Arvada, Aurora, Broomfield, Denver, Golden, Greenwood Village, Lafayette, Louisville, Parker, Superior and Westminster.
"WisperTel is anxious to extend its highly reliable Internet and E-phone/VoIP services, together with our excellent in-house customer care to Path's 200 subscribers said Barry Pier, President and CEO of WisperTel. Pier further noted, "Path's pre-WiMAX technology is compatible with WisperTel's existing network and their service area is contiguous with our coverage in the greater Denver area."
State-of-the-art pre-WiMAX and WiMAX broadband wireless networks -- not to be confused with early generation Wi-Fi or satellite Internet -- have proven in the last few years to be a very effective, reliable and economical way to provide broadband services to suburban and rural communities that are under-served by other Internet providers.
